Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Christmas time is full of sugar plums and Santa and twinkle lights. Even though we were sick sick sick we still enjoyed each other and Lula's 2nd Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve ( the night before it realllllyyy hit us) with Lula's Mia and family. We did Christmas presents at Mia's house with Lula's Aunt Kelli and Uncle Tom then went to Lula's Second cousin's house and had an amazing dinner filled with laughs and warm hearts.
We spent Christmas Day home in our jammies as not to infect anyone else with the most horrible cold I can remember having. After 2 trips to the Dr. for Lula and 1 for me, Mike held strong and didn't go to the Dr., there wasn't much more we could do but ride it out and hope for a healthy new year.
We didn't get to spend time with Lula's Papa and Kay Kay this year at Christmas but we did go to Stoke's Tree Farm with them and Lula's Aunt Kristi and cousin Michael to get our tree and see the reindeer and sip some hot cocoa. Boy was it COLD!
We celebrated Christmas with Lula's Grandpa and Grandmom 2 weeks later. We had a nice dinner and had some birthday cake. They brought a bunch of my old toys and some new one's too, that she has yet to put down. It is sweet to see her loving my toys as much as I did.
The cutest thing about our holiday season was Lula wearing her santa hat ALL the time. She would go and pick it up from under the tree and put it on to play, all you could see was the peak of the hat and little white pompom bouncing from toy to toy, "hat hat"!
After a long couple of weeks we are back to normal and enjoying 2010. We had a big snow storm and were snowed in for a couple days but once it slowed down we went to the library for a children's story time. I was so proud of Lula. She shared each toy she picked up and sat and listened to the stories and songs for 30 mins! I felt a little overwhelmed ( in a good way) with this new experience. My baby is a toddler with places to go and friends to make. It was such a special moment for both of us. Play dates here we come! What a smart, caring, beautiful, precious, funny, silly girl she is. More blogging soon, sorry I've been absent for a while. it's tough to blog with a toddler running all over the house! Happy New Year!
